You can make a series tuned circuit using a loopstick
BC band antenna and a 365 pf variable capacitor (or
slightly larger capacitance). Put one side of the
loopstick to the antenna and then connect the variable
capacitor between the other side of the loopstick and
ground. Tune the variable capacitor until the BC
station "disappears". Make sure that the frame of the
variable capacitor goes to ground so that you don't
have problems with stray capacity from your hand.

A series tuned circuit allows only a narrow band of
frequencies to pass. By connecting it to ground you
effectively short out the BC station while letting all
of the other frequencies (both above and below the
series tuned circuit's frequency) to pass with very
little, if any, attenuation.

Considering Duane's sight loss he may have to have
some assistance building the circuit. But, maybe not,
he is pretty able to do a lot of things! The circuit
is not that complicated.

I use a similar series tuned circuit that is tuned to
TV Channel 4 that is on the antenna connection to my
Tempo 2001 linear. This takes care of any harmonics
from 20 meters that can cause TVI problems.

The question: Any suggestions as to how to reduce or
eliminate the local BCB station?
