Larry,
The great majority of electrolytic capacitors in commercial 
applications are aluminum types these days.  These should be fine for 
your application.  Military and other high-reliability applications 
often require tantalum electrolytics because of their lower long-term 
failure rates at high operating temperatures, etc., but some tantalums 
may have other problems, such as generally higher DC leakage currents, 
etc.
