Thanks to all who responded with their viewpoints and suggestions as to
what to look for.  It was really helpful and i think i'm on the way to
getting a more current test equipment setup.  Good scope, RF and Audio
generator along with a respectable counter.  

I do use my FT-990 to set the freq of my URM-25D sig gen but its a
hassle as they are across the room from each other.  Other than that it
certainly does the job but i may dispose of it. 

I did find lots of plugin modules for the 7403N frame i have.  They are
cheap and its been suggested that most of them are of good quality so
that unit may get some new life.  Only thing that i'm not discovering is
that no one will confirm what probe is proper to use with any particular
scope.  There must be something to that question or they wouldn't make
all the different type of probes.  

Take for example the Tektronic P6101B which i think is rated at 25 Mc. 
What effect if any does it have on a scope with a 75 or 100 0r 200 mc
bandwidth?  

There's more to this search than meets the eye....  New price for this
is $125 and i have no interest in paying that sort of price when it may
not be the right item for the scope i have.  Course at that price i
don't have any interest anyway!!!!!  

Any help in sorting this out or where one would find pertinent info to
aid in making a reasonably wise decision.
