As always, all flavors of vintage gear are always welcome -

The last regularly scheduled Hallicrafters Collectors International 40 meter Net
will be held on Saturday August 9th. There will be no official Net on August
16th. (I have never missed a Net, so to keep my record intact if I cancel the
August 16th Net, then I technically can't miss it! Now how is that for
self-serving ego tripping rationality!) Depending on the outcome of the colon
cancer surgery on Friday August 15th, I 'hope' to return for the Net on Saturday
August 23rd. If I am unable to return, either a new NCS will be needed or the
Net will officially end. Either way, I hope the Net will continue as it serves a
great cause and some equally great people.

Join us tomorrow, if for no other reason, just to say Hi.

The pre-Net will begin at 12:30 PM EDT, (1630 UTC) and the Net proper at 1:00 PM
EDT, (1700 UTC). The frequency will be 7.280 Mhz lsb +/- for key clicks, mike
splatter and the snap, crackle and kerpop sound of Frogzilla serving up grilled
Mosquitoes as they fall from the ten Kw bug zapper like your hair does when you
hit fifty! There is nothing quite like the scent of a smoked June bug to clear
out plugged sinus passages, or the contents of your stomach if you happen to
have a weak one! He is trying to help eliminate these West Nile Virus plague
donors with an all you can eat free buffet for all hungry amphibians with a
taste for toasted skeeters. Or just take a trash bag full home to fertilize your
compost pile with.

I hope to hear many of you tomorrow, so if you can be there, please do. It has
been great fun the past four and a half years and I don't plan for it to end
now. Just a little delay while I get some circuit repairs done. I sure hope this
surgeon knows how to solder right! All I don't need is a cold colon solder
joint!
