[Boatanchors] AM reception on a regen???

Can anyone please describe AM reception on a regenerative rx? I suspect it is much like putting the BFO on while receiving a foreign SW broadcase but to tell you the truth, that's just a guess. Let me know and thanks. Cal, N6KYR.
