I routinely work on solid state circuits with the power on. I have an American
Beauty iron that has interchangeable power cords. I swapped a power cord from a
2 to a 3 wire, and every time I touched a connection, my circuit stopped or
started working. It took me a while to figure out the problem. I figured t was
capacitance at first, and wasted a bunch of time chasing parasitic.
Sorry to disappoint.
