Absolutely! All subscribers should use plain text and NO multi-part alternative
format. The AOL users, who seem to get little help on this issue from the AOL
tech support people, can look back in the Hallicrafters archives for
instructions on how to do this. It was posted some months back.
Keep this in mind: the qth.net owner, Al Waller, K3TKJ wrote a routine that lets
the html posts go through to the lists. Before he did this, they all went
directly to the list manager. Who in most cases on most lists, sent them
directly to the cyber trashcan. Now Al did NOT write this routine to let people
post in html, as he specifically asks you to use plain text, no html and/or
multi-part alternative formats. He did it to allow those who could not post to
be able to post while they figured out how to set their mail client to post in
plain text. Easy to do with Outlook Express, just several mouse button clicks.
thank you for posting properly -

It sure would be better if all who post would abide by the TEXT ONLY
preference. It is very difficult to read the recent preponderance of HTML
formatted postings.
Just a friendly suggestion since I have no say in such things, only a
dedicated member of the list.
