Both my HQ-120 and HQ-129 had bad output xfmrs.
Must be the weak link that makes them a joy to own.

Subject: [Boatanchors] Joy of Boatanchors (?)
Just finished restoring my old TBS-50C transmitter. Got it working FB with
an old Lysco VFO. Not even any chirp! So, I turn on the trusty old HQ-129X,
and am listening
around in preparation for a QSO, when I hear that annoying
"snap.crackle,pop." Since I wasn't eating cereal, I figured I had a problem.
Then the HQ-129X went dead, no
audio, just a little hum....
Checked it out and it appears the primary of the audio output transformer
opened. (Since there is B+ on one side of the winding but not on the other).
Rats! I am assuming
I can replace this with a garden variety 20K to 8 ohm output transformer,
say around 8 watts.
I was just thinking my projects were done for a while, and I could play with
some of this stuff....
