All vintage gear of all flavors is always welcome -
Please warm up those vintage Hallicrafters receivers, transmitters and
transceivers for the Wednesday September 18th HCI Global Glow Roundtable.
Remember those good old days when we could get a glow in the dark trinket in our
box of cereal? I wonder how many rads we ingested eating our Wheaties? Sure made
some kids easy to find when playing Hide And Go Seek at night though.
The Global Glow pre-Net will commence at 7:00 PM EDT, (2300 UTC). The roundtable
proper starts at 8:00 PM EDT, (0000 UTC).
The frequency is 14.315 Mhz usb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and the
sizzling sound of unfortunate birds who decided to stop for a drink out of
Frogzilla's imported Italian white marble base with pillar and ceramic top bird
bath. Seems that he got tired of them leaving little presents behind he had to
use a small sand shovel and bucket to eliminate. He somehow tapped into my 9913F
feedline running to the Hustler 6BTV and hooked it up to his universal remote
control. Now when they stop for a drink and quick bath, they get their feathers
blown off like a cross-eyed Porcupine who mistook the 10 gauge electrical
extension cord for an earthworm and tried to bite it in half. Quills shot off
him like a dozen Roman Candles on the fourth of July flinging colored balls into
the night sky.
I hope that many of you don't take that nap after supper, fire up the vintage
radio gear and join us for some fun, facts, fantasy and fellowship. And if you
see that DNR truck come rolling down my street to rescue those birds doing the
Bristol Wrench Hot Foot Stomp, go flag them down! I think the neighbors who have
been complaining about their galvanized metal trash can lids vanishing, just
might find them turned into pressure sensitive mines protecting the perimeter of
my yard.
