All vintage gear of all flavors is always welcome -
Spice up your life. Get a nice rf burn instead of a solar radiation burn for a
change. The HCI 40 meter Net will be held on Saturday September 7th. The pre-Net
will commence with various and sundry utterings at 12:30 PM EDT, (1630 UTC). The
Net proper will begin at 1:00 PM EDT, (1700 UTC). The frequency will be 7.280
Mhz lsb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and the unmistakable sound of my
neighbor's small block Chevy powered riding lawn mower doing laps around the
yard as he practices for the oval track competition for lawn mowers coming up in
Bardstown, KY in October. The blade spins so fast that it does not cut the
grass, but everybody outside within a quarter mile radius gets a buzz from
whatever the man is pouring into that fuel tank!
I am still limping along in the life of barefoot radiodom while Ameritron ships
me out a tube for the AL-1500. Cheap too. Like $772! I was six days under the
warranty limit when it rolled over, stuck its radials into the air and ceased to
radiate. So fir eup the Kirby and suck that ear wax out prior to Net time, as
the MI Alligator sounds more like a Fire Fly with a gas problem.
I hope to hear some of you tomorrow. Last Saturday we had an excellent turn out
of twenty-two check ins. Puny though I may be, I shall be there. So listen up.
