Please bear with me ladies and gentlemen but I have run out of help
sources.
My "frigid stick" from 1984 needs PM so I dug out the intstruction
sheet and the
confusion began. It says "scrape off any paint on the mast where the
cones come in contact and apply silicone grease....." but why apply an
insulator like silicone after scraping the paint off (if any) to
provide grounding of the cones (I guess that is the purpose) ?
Wouldn't application of Penetrox or similar material be better?
Thanks for any input and again please excuse the use of the reflector
for an off-topic.
