Hi
While I am recovering from some heart surgery I had a wild idea that I would
like to build a replica of the National SW-3. It sounds like a wonderful
regen. receiver and had a very long production run due to its popularity.
Now as I study what information I can find, it seems there were a number of
different versions of the SW-3 as the production proceeded through the
years. BAMA has diagrams of versions using tubes ranging from 30s to 1G5s
to 6K7s (from memory, may have some numbers wrong). However, this makes me
wonder if there is anyone out there who can point me to a source of
information about the differences in versions from the first production to
the last. I know the main variable cap changed and both AC and DC versions
were produced - but maybe all the SW-3 history has already been collected
somewhere. Anyone know if so and where?
Thanks in advance !
