All vintage gear of all flavors is always welcome -

Please join me for the HCI Global Glow Roundtable on Wednesday evening October
16th. The pre-Net will commence at 7:00 PM EDT, (2300 UTC). The roundtable
proper begins at 8:00 PM EDT, (0000 UTC). The frequency will be 14.315 Mhz usb
+/- for key clicks, mike splatter and the sound of snowflakes falling on my Ham
Shack roof? Great galloping rotting rubber grommets! Say it is not so brother
NOAA! Or is it brother Noah? This is October, it is not legal for snow to fall
in the Fall!

The NOAA has yours truly listed as an official "Snowflake Spotter". When an inch
accumulates, I am supposed to notify them. Ever try to measure the depth of a
pile of snowflakes with a warm finger? So I fake it a little and always add a
quarter of an inch to my 'sighting' reports. "Hello NOAA. This is W8DBF in
Genesee County. It feels like an inch of snow has fallen and the wind is 22 mph
out of the north, based on how fast my ear lobes are glazing over with ice
crystals. The temperature at five feet above the ground is 28 degrees, as my
tongue is stuck to the steel porch support post and that happens at precisely
28F. No, I am not drunk, it is hard to speak normal with the end of my tongue
frozen to this pipe! Get that ski slope rescue dog up here with the heated jug
of ginger flavored brandy tied under his jowls and hurry! Otherwise you will
need to learn CW because your reports will be coming that way soon!"

I hope to hear many of you tomorrow evening. Be there and keep me from bruising
my knees by them knocking against each other. At least the vintage boat anchor
HF amplifier will keep me warm! Not nearly as much fun as a warm woman to keep
one warm on a cold night, but then again, it does not get PMS and throw
furniture when it gets mad!
