Sorry this is not directly related to BAs but I
hope someone helps me. A young engineer asked me
today why inductance is abbreviated to "L". R for
resistance, and C for capacitance; these are clear.
But why L? I could not answer.
One of my old books says that the inductance is
defined as a number of flux linkage per current
producing flux, so I guess "Linkage" could be
the reason; but I'm not sure. Does anybody have
the answer?
