Well, I just checked my stock.. I only have two left so I
need to keep those. I have two sons and I wouldn't want
them to fight over the last one!
But, I think you can do the same thing with some stiff but
slightly flexible tubing -- try the plumbing section of a
Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.. Take a suspect nut, or nuts,
along with you to see which diameter will work best!
Actually, that started me to thinking and digging through
the stuff above the workbench.. I found a quantity of test
probe bodies. I was able to get the large end (the probe
end) to accept a 6-32 nut. I had to tap the first one with
a hammer but after that, it seems to work like the
original. I can't find any 4-40 nuts to test the other end
but to my calibrated bifocals, it looks to be roughly the
same diameter as the small end of the Heath nut starter. A
small tap with a hammer may be required to establish the
correct diameter -- the first time!!
So, for a mere $5.95 plus $3.00 shipping and handling...
Oops! This ain't Ebay. 8=)
If you are correct in QRZ or want to send me your address,
I will put 2 or three of these in an envelope..
