Glen,

Nobody receiving a posting via mailman.qth.net is going to receive any
attachments, they are automatically stripped out prior to the post being sent to
subscribers. This is not new, it has always been set up this way.

The only way anyone is going to get anything is direct to them from Glen or
somebody else using Glen's address. It will NOT come through this list!

Yes, somebody on this list is indeed sending out viruses to people in their
addressbook. Mike Smout of Canada is another victim, just as Glen is. Niether
sent any contaminated mail, nor did it originate from their computer. There are
ways to send mail and 'make it appear' to be from a different party, and such is
the case here. It is very difficult for people to know if it is their system or
not.
Personally, I am in favor of hanging anyone who writes these viruses and
knowingly sends them out by their genitals, or staking them out naked and
smeared with honey, over an Ant mound!

Once again, be reassured, you will not get an attachment through any
mailman.qth.net list they are safe. A good rule of thumb: if it looks
suspicious, just delete it.

Someone, or something, has been sending out all sorts
of virus messages with topics of messages that I sent
out several days ago. I understand that this has
happened to several other people on the reflector.

I ran a complete check of my computer and it is,
according to AVG (one of the better virus programs)
clean. However, if someone gets this message today, 2
October 2002, with a virus attached, please let me
know. The message was sent at 1635Z.

Thanks
