P.P.S.... the reasoning for the development of the 'controlled-heater
warm-up' characteristic was to allow the tube to operate directly from 12
volts in Mobile service... given that alternator/gemerator outputs could
vary from 10-20Vdc, the control was necessary to increase the life of
tubes and ensure the operation of devices in Mobile service....again,
please correct me if I am wrong here... 73 de Jordan...
