All vintage gear is always welcome -
While many of us think of Memorial Day as a three day weekend that is the
unofficial start of Summer, time for the Indy 500 and various other outdoor
activities, let us NEVER forget the reason it truly exists. It is a salute to
all the Veterans, living and departed, who fought to gain us the freedom we all
enjoy and then continued to fight to preserve it from those who would extinguish
the torch held high by the Statue Of Liberty. Freedom is not free, it comes at a
very high price. Often times the ultimate price, the defenders own life. Let us
never forget our freedom must not be taken as granted, or assume it will always
be there. The winds of evil never cease to blow and if we become complacent and
apathetic those winds will blow out the flame of freedom's torch and we will
slip into the dark abyss of domination from which we once fought to escape. It
has happened many times to many peoples throughout history, it can, and will,
happen again! Let it not be the United States of America who is a victim because
Americans allowed the "In God we trust" on our coins to become "In god we
trusted".
Join me on Saturday May 25th for the Hallicrafters Collectors International 40
meter Net. It will commence with the pre-Net at 12:30 PM EDT, (1630 UTC). The
Net will officially begin at 1:00 PM EDT, (1700 UTC). The frequency will be
7.280 Mhz lsb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and the sizzling sound of
insects being vaporized by my new electronic 50,000 volt bug incinerator hanging
between the Hustler 6BTV and the GAP Titan vertical. Nothing to clean up, just
little puffs of smoke as they fly and fry with more popping than a popcorn wagon
burning high octane jet fuel! The smell is enough to gag a maggot at a road kill
cook out!
I hope to hear many of you tomorrow for some fun, facts and fellowship. Hear you
then.
