The source can be from a plethora of places. What Joe suggests is a good place
to begin. It also helps with your issue, and birdies and assorted noises, to
remove the batteries from all the electronic gadgets in your home, and on your
person. Yes, that electronic watch is an offender too.	
	
There are so many computer chips in so many things nowadays, that we forget to
think about them. They all send out their own little signal and they can be
quite a problem. You will be surprised, even shocked, as to how many things you
have inside your home that contain batteries! No wonder the landfills are full!

If you still hear the noise running the rig on battery, go shut the house 
main breaker off an see if it is being generated inside your house.

I had a nasty noise years ago and finally got it fixed.  The power company 
replaced the HV insulator on the top of the power pole in front of my house 
with an "RFI Proof" nonconducting insulator.
