Please join me tomorrow, Saturday March 9th, to celebrate three years of my
keeping the NCS chair bottom warm. Not that anyone really cares, but I have
permanent indentations in both buttocks from those cheap springs in the stain
resistant fabric cushions poking upwards. Which just goes to prove, that serving
as the NCS can sometimes be truly a pain in the ...

The HCI 40 meter Net will commence with the pre-Net frequency dust off at 12:30
PM EST, (1730 UTC). The Net officially begins at 1:00 PM EST, (1800 UTC). The
frequency will be 7.280 Mhz lsb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and the sound
of one of those vintage springs escaping the bonds of gravity and stimulating
the tip of my tailbone!

We had thunder here in Michigan this morning and more is forecast for tomorrow.
You can bet your roasted oozing black beauties, that I disconnected all the
antennas and ground wires this time! Going along with the thunder, and rain, are
strong winds upwards of 45 mph+. The temperature hit the 52F mark here today.
The way garbage can lids are sailing through the air like stray Frisbees, I hope
I have some functional antennas left by sunrise!

IF I receive enough anniversary cake, cards with cash, food stamps or unused
lottery tickets inside, I 'MAY' decide to remain on as NCS. If not, at least I
won't have that spring playing strains of Dixie on my coccyx!

I hope to hear many of you tomorrow. Think about this: S-108 that plays fine for
two months daily. Then suddenly starts to lose volume after being on for five
minutes. The internal pm speaker and external headphones are both affected. A
tube warming up and shorting? A capacitor in the audio section failing? The
older gentleman who has the set has no test gear, anyone in the Los Angeles, CA
area willing to take a look?
