What about us frogs who can't swim? We'll just have to speak to Frogtown or no one?
I'm of the impression that some may not bother to respond at all now, since everyone
will see and since the 'reply' features of their software have been superceded by
opinion. This was clear to me when I was on the Collins list and asked questions - I got
many replies in private that I never would have seen if they had to post to the group.
Also got a few explanations as to why - including two former Collins employees who like
to help, but hate the politics. So, this is something to bear in mind too. I'm thinking
the list were pretty good as they were, really(other than the software issues that were
addressed).
I agree with Al that it is better when a thread is in progress if all parties could
reply to the list and group as a whole. I just disagree that he/we should somehow
attempt to impose this view on others. Goes against my conservative nature. ;) The
problem now is that many of th posts are not or never become threads for or of the
group, and as a result the list gets a lot more traffic than really necessary.
What really seems odd is that the original sender(in this case, Ray) doesn't even appear
in the address list. How odd is that?
My biggest problem was never sending to the list enough, it was sending to the list when
I didn't mean to! Those reply buttons look a lot a like, and I think they were layed out
by right-handed people....
