Hi Gangue,

In the mail this morning from a company called "Mainline" here in=
 the
UK, the NEW "old" Jackson Brothers Variable Capacitors and Drives=

catalogue.

Quote} CONDENSED A LOT!

Mainline Electronics is committed to the sale and supply of radio=

parts. Jackson Brothers was the last of its kind in the UK, and
through no fault of it's own had ceased trading.

Instead of buying a few bits of stock, we bought the entire=
 company.

We have re-hired some of the original Jackson Brothers staff.
Production started again in January - six months after being=
 written
off, Jackson Brothers is again in profit.

END Quote}

The catalogue is extensive, as yet not on a website=
 unfortunately,
and nothing in the precision world is cheap. To example, the TX5
transmitting twin rotor for ATU use and Split Stator capacitor is=

priced at =A383.53 plus taxes (that's in UK pound folks) for the 2=
 x
250pf value unit, 2kV rated. There's values and ratings up to=
 6kV,
That's for the qrp list naturally 8>)

Standard type C804 trimmers come in at =A310.00 to =A321.00 depending=
 on
spec and capacity (again that's UK pounds plus taxes extra, 17.5%=
 for
UK residents)

Ball Drive 6:1 ratio, 0-100 scale, black plastic knob around=
 =A318.00
(UK Pounds) There's complete tuning dials also, couplers, pulleys=
 and
the likes

Although there's no website yet, there is a contact by e-mail to

[email protected]

The usual disclaimer apply, if you need a "REAL" tuning=
 condenser,
then these people probably deserve our support for getting=
 production
going again. They appear to take plastic, I'm sure they will be=
 happy
to quote for US orders if asked.

Regards
