Being as the NOAA here in Michigan can not comprehend that Monday, February 18,
is President's Day, NOT George Washington's birthday as they have advertised all
week, I thought maybe we should have a pre-President's Day sale on the Sunday
February 17th HCI 20 meter Net, just for fun. So bring all of your junk,
remember - it is someone elses treasure, inflate the prices, got to keep those
stock holders happy, and let's fling a few Eisenhower copper/nickel clad bucks
across the old Potomic like George Washington did. Or was that his wooden
dentures when a Termite bit the inside of his cheek? No matter, join me at 12:45
PM EST, (1745 UTC), for the pre-net hack the rusted TV tower down with a razor
sharp hand axe party. Then stick around for the official HCI Net start at 1:15
PM EST, (1815 UTC) when Honest Abe Lincoln's great great great great grandson
confesses that William Halligan, Sr. ex-wife stole the schematic Bill drew on
the cocktail napkin during their honeymoon and ran off with some guy with a last
name of Collins. The frequency will be 14.293 Mhz usb +/- for key clicks, mike
splatter and the sound of a spitting William Clinton bouncing cherry pits off
the hub caps of the presidential limo!

I will be on the air at 12:30 PM EST, (1730 UTC), reading about how FDR had a
SX-62 mounted on his wheelchair disguised to look like a bun warmer. So bring
that bag of plastic boat anchor knobs you bought at an estate sale for $.50 and
offer those 'mint' factory original rare collectibles to your radio friends for
the absolutely 'go ahead and steal them from me' price of just $10 each. Bring
some of those discolored vacuum tubes with numbers so faded that a psychic can't
even read them and offer them up as full output finals for some Hallicrafters
transmitter that began with the letters HT! Don't forget to throw several
handfuls of those old capacitors and resistors you clipped out of junk gear you
bought at a fire sale into a brown paper bag and offer them to the highest
bidder as NOS replacement parts! Sales are such fun!

I hope to hear many of you tomorrow spouting political speeches and resistor
color codes. Both of which may, or may not, be within tolerance values! But we
on the HCI Net have the capacity for patience and are equal number of turns on
the inductor subscribers coil form advocates and discriminate against nobody. We
believe that America is a 'solid state' and that every jet ski should have a
boat anchor to attach it to the pcB enriched muck on the bottom of the Swan
river. So pack a spaghetti tube snack in your Heathkit lunch box and let's share
some fun, facts and fibs on the HCI 20 meter Net. Hear you then!
