RECEIVERS, TRANSMITTERS
Ramsey Electronics Model HR-80 80-meter receiver, built, in matching Ramsey
case. Works fine. With original documentation. $22.
Vectronics 40-meter receiver. Neatly built by me. Not in case. With original
documentation. Works fine. $20
Vectronics 40-meter transmitter, VXO controlled, includes crystal. Neatly

KITS
Howes DR4 Digital Display kit in original box from Townsend Electronics.
Includes Howes DFD-4 "digital frequency counter kit with programmable offset
and up/down counting facilities to enable it to be used as a frequency
readout for superhet type receivers and transceivers." Includes PMB4
"programming matrix for use with the DFD4 digital frequency counter. It
enables six different offset frequncies to be programmed and selected by the
use of a six way switch." Also includes nice silk screened Howes CAM4 case
and hardware kit which includes the rotary switch, cabinet, etc. If you've
built a Howes kit before you know that they are not "Heath" style and do
require some chassis drilling, but they pose no problems for builders who
have a bit more experience. Parts bags are unopened, and the box includes
documentation. I've been looking at this one over the last few weeks as I've
been packing for the move, hesitating to add it to the moving sale (I really
like it!), but the reality is that I'd most likely not get around to
building it for a long time - thus it needs a good home. $70
Electronic Rainbow OSC-2 Code Practice Oscillator kit. New, unbuilt,
unopened. $4
Ramsey Aircraft Band Receiver Kit, neatly built by me but never powered up
and tested (if you've built many kits, you understand...!) In original bag.
With original documentation/instructions. $20
624 Kits "VFO-2" VFO board. This company used to operate out of South
Carolina and produced a number of very nice kits. I built this one a good
many years ago, checked it out just now and it works fine. Very stable! The
VFO circuit uses two FETs (MPF 102 or 2N4416) and a 2N2222 buffer. The
circuit also includes a "shift" feature, and an onboard trimmer allows
setting the VFO as desired in the band of interest. You can fine-tune the
tuning range by fiddling with the caps on the board or by putting an NP0 cap
in series with the air variable to reduce tuning range. If you've homebrewed
VFOs, you'll know what to do to get the range and tuning rate you desire.
I'll include the air variable that I used to use with it. I will also
include the cabinet that was with it, a new/undrilled/still in box and
plastic bag Radio Shack "Deluxe Metal Utility Cabinet" that I'd planned to
put it in. The cabinet is NOT drilled, so you'll need to do your own
metalwork and add your own connectors, etc. Includes original documentation.
$20
OTHER HAM GEAR
Vectronics "Tunable CW Audio Filter." Model VEC 841W. New in unopened box
with original shrink wrap still intact. I had purchased this one new for
myself, but then received one for a gift from family...better use the gift!
It's a nice filter. $35.
MFJ "Deluxe Electronic Keyer II." The very neat one using the Curtis 8044
chip, with the front-panel meter calibrated for readout of speed in words
per minute. This is one of the two keyers that was in daily use here. Works
perfectly, beautiful condition. Runs on 5-9vdc, with built-in holder for
four C-cells. No documentation. $30.
Heath HD-10 electronic keyer, the old green one. Another one I used a lot.
Good condition, works fine. Original manual. $25.
MFJ "Telepatch II Deluxe Hybrid Phone Patch." Immaculate condition. I assume
it works as good as it looks - never used it. Includes original
documentation. $15.
METERS
1. Meter. A "W.S. No. 19 Voltmeter" made by Simpson Electric Co., according
to the logo embossed on the back. The scale is calibrated 0-15 and 0-600. On
the lower left side of the scale it reads "Model 125" and on the lower right
it reads "6323". I checked the movement and it works, but it does not read
voltage directly...apparently a dropping resistor was used. The meter is in
a black round case 2.75 inches in diameter and mounts in a 2.25 inch round
hole. $4
2. Meter. Lafayette, 0-10 volts. Works fine. Extra set of contacts at top;
not sure what they're for. Rectangular face about two and three-eights wide
by one and three-quarters deep. Mounts in 1.5-inch hole. $4.
3. Meter. Triplett 0-100 ua, round face 2 5/8 in dia, mounts in 2 inch
hole. $5
4. Meter, edge mount, 500 ua movement, scale calibrated 1-9. New. $3.
5. Meter, new in package, GC Electronics 0-1 ma, rectangular face about 2
x 2 inches, mounts in 1 inch round hole. $5
6. Meter 0-50 milliamp, Triplett, meter has square face about 2.5 inches on
a side and mounts in round hole about 2.25 inches. $4.
7. "LED Voltmeter" board, built, model "VM-3" by ...? Small board with three
LEDs (red, yellow, green) that (according to the schematic with 'em)
indicate 11, 12, 13 volts. With copy of schematic, $1.
8. Meter 0-5 milliamps. Westinghouse. Square face, 2.25 in. on a side,
mounts in round hole just over 2 in. $4.
9. Meter. Simpson, 0-500 microamps DC, 2.75 inch diameter round face,
mounts in 2.25 inch hole. Brand new. $6
All the "meter" items as a batch, $25
UNUSUAL ITEMS and THINGS TO KEEP YOU ENTERTAINED ON LONG WINTER NIGHTS
Trac-One "Deluxe CMOS Keyer" unit. Acquired a long time ago at a hamfest
just because it looked so interesting. This is a keyer, which a quick check
shows does indeed generate dots and dashes (but I did NOT check it with a
transmitter). This unit also includes a "de-QRMer" - a very narrow audio
filter that is hooked to your receiver, then in turn keys an audio
oscillator in the Trac-One to de-QRM received signals, if that makes sense.
I quickly checked it out, and that feature does appear to work, but as I
have no documentation and no knowledge of this unit I have no idea if it's
working right or not. I did not build this unit myself; the assembly is okay
but could use some "neatening up" in some areas. Front has five controls
(with knobs) and small slide switch for on-off, plus "lock" indicator light
for the de-QRMer. Back has four quarter inch phone jacks, two slide
switches, and mini phone jack for power. Top cover is missing. This could
probably be a lot of fun to play with. $8
"New Neophyte Receiver." Another 624 Kits version. Built a long time ago by
me. Built-up board only, no enclosure, with instructions provided in 624
Kits kit. Includes poly variable that was in the bag too. I have no idea if
this one works, as it's been years and years since I built it - I do know
that it used to work, really it did, but you've heard that before! No time
to check it out now, years later, so it's as-is. $5.
"MFJ CMOS Keyer." The old, old gray one. Acquired years ago to "make it
work," but never got around to it. Appears to be complete, including Curtis
8043 chip in socket, but functionality is untested and thus unknown. Two
wires (red and black, presumably power) are loose in the enclosure. No docs,
no schematic, strictly as is. Just want to be sure you understand this is
NOT a plug and play keyer! Cabinet's worth it, but the rest is a great
unknown. $3
Another keyer, MFJ "Deluxe Elecronic Keyer" MFJ 8043. This one in a Tentec
cabinet. Includes Curtis 8043 chip in socket, but functionality is untested
and thus unknown. Two wires (presumably power) are loose in the enclosure.
Kmobs missing. Power jack missing. No docs, no schematic, strictly as is.
Cabinet is well worth it, but the keyer's an unknown as I never got around
to doing anything with it. $5
SEMICONDUCTORS
Bag of LM107 op amp ICs. New, 5 pcs. $2
2N2405 transistors. 30-plus pcs. New. $6
Bag of about 30 FND 367 seven-segment LED readouts. New. $5
All the above semiconductors $9
TUBES
Three tubes: two 6146Bs, one 6146A. Presumably they were spares kept for use
with one of those long-ago 6146-using rigs, but condition is unknown. All
are in 6146 boxes, but the boxes are not the originals! All three tubes $7
OTHER COMPONENTS
Bourns 3400-S-201 200-ohm ten-turn wirewound pot. Blue case. Quarter-inch
shaft. It was obviously pulled from something at some point but is
exceptionally smooth and checks out fine. $3.
