I was stopped by an acquaintence at the village yard
sale in the town park who said he had a radio that I
might be interested in, if I wanted it it was by the
curb at his grandmother's house and I could pick it up
at my convienience.
Well, it was a freebie, too bad they'd left it out in
the rain with that HUGE mouse nest in the battery
compartment,......... bleah!
Anyway, I think it may be somewhat salvageable, not
sure yet.
The problem is that I'm not sure just exactly what it
is! Its in a tole paper covered wooden case, the top
opens up to reveal the controls, knobs and speaker.
The back door opens up to show the MOUSE NEST, tubes,
battery compartment, antenna coil, and 110 volt cord
storage. It says Airline on it but I don't see any
numbers that agree with the Wards Airline model number
format, it also has the crest that resembles Wards,
Montgomery-Wards, that is.
This is an AM Broadcast only radio, 5 tubes, 1T4, 1T5,
3V4, 1R4, 1R5, IIRC.
Any ideas appreciated,
Joe
