I've used DeOxit in situations like this with mostly good results.  A
light spray on the cans may work, depending on the type of corrosion.  It
should also minimize further oxidation and go easy on the remaining
plating. You should use it on the xtal pins, so there will be some
overspray anyway.  Some polishes and metal cleaners -- probably including
vineger -- may speed up corrosion later on.
