[Boatanchors] Crystal Radio Drives Speaker

Back in the 1920s, there were some "speakers" that
actually used a headphone that was mechanically
coupled to it.  They produce some pretty "loud" sound.
Some of these had "ears" on the side so that you could
place a "two ear" headphone set on it.  Also, the high
impedance speakers of the 1920s (primarily horn types)
might work as well.  You can make an "adapter" by
making a cone of cardboard with the small end just
slightly larger than the opening in an earphone.  If
you hold this to the headphone you will find that the
sound is amplified considerably.
