Hi John,

As I mentioned, my station consists of a NC-101X and a Harvey-Wells BandMaster.  The speaker is needed to complete the B+ connection since the coil inductance filters the B+ and supplies the electromagnet with current.  You can cheat by simply using a large inductor or even a resistor but this may *not* be a good idea. For the least amount of problems get the schematic and the manual first.  You should have no trouble in finding a speaker that electrically works but National Speaker cabinets are difficult to find.
