Yes the picnic went well, good food and good attendance. ....So did the
overall field day operation. If you missed it, you missed a good time.

There seemed to be a bigger crowd from both Dial and Butler Co VHF. And we
had quite a few drop in visitors that toured around. Of course the nice
weather (no rain and mild temperatures) was very helpful in getting everyone
out.

Red says he found the solution to get help for setup on Friday nights, feed
everyone hamburgers and hot dogs! The result was that we had LOTS of help to
set up the antennas and shelters.

Rough QSO counts were almost 600 for the CW station, a little over 300 for
the 20/80 meter station, and right around 300 for the 40 meter station.
Final totals will be sent when Dave gets a chance to get the CW data off of
the crashed computer. Other than the CW computer problems, everything worked
good, including the operators.

Except for a couple of hours in the middle of the night, we kept all the
stations going on the air. (That's normal for us!) We also broke in a few
new operators that had not been to our field day before.

We have a whole year to rest up now.
