Subject: [mvarbb] Solar Flares - Communication Breakdown
Good Morning:
With major communication efforts on-going in support of the
devastation left by Hurricane Katrina, I would like to post a timely
bulletin...
Yesterday a major X-Class Solar Flare exploded on the Eastern
limb of the Sun. This was caused by Sunspot #798 which currently has an
impressive magnetic field. 798 has been, and is still active and
capable of producing X-Class (The most powerful) Flares. These flares
will disrupt HF communication ranging from interference, to complete
"black-outs". Sunspot 798 is rotating toward the Earth facing side of
the Sun, and the potential continues for X-Class Solar Flares and major
disruption in communication.
To keep abreast of minute by minute activity, a great source of
information can be found at: http://SpaceWeather.com
