Subject: TO ALL ARRL MEMBERS IN THE OHIO SECTION
When you receive the November issue of QST, you will read major reports on
the response to Hurricanes, Katrina and Rita. While it was not documented
in this issue of OST, the Ohio Section played a VERY important part of that
response. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who
registered and responded into the affected area.
This is echoed by my fellow SECs in the affected regions. The Ohio Section
definitely came through when needed.
If you responded into the area to serve any agency, please let us have your
story, and any pictures. We will be passing them on to the ARRL for a
complete wrap-up, and putting together a story for all of the Ohio Section
to post on our web site, and include with future ARES presentations to show
to our served agencies.
I'm interested in what worked, and what didn't work. The US has never
experienced a disaster this complex in recent times, and we are all
learning from what happened. All comments will be summarized and
distributed to those who lead the response, and the goal is to be even
better prepared the next time. We learn from all of our activities.
Again, thanks to all in the Ohio Section who assisted in any way. This was
a "job well done", and was much appreciated.
73,
