The FCC this month advised several amateurs in Ohio and Michigan to avoid 
lengthy FM simplex QSOs on 146.52 MHz. Under the generally accepted band 
plan endorsed by the ARRL, 146.52 MHz is the 2-meter national calling 
frequency. Stations making initial contact there are expected to move to 
another simplex channel to continue their conversation
