[BARC-List] Now's the time to register for the BAA 5K and Boston Marathon

Registration for the 2017 BAA 5K (on April 15) and Boston Marathon
(April 17) are wrapping up. The BAA will close general volunteer
registration on February 8, and amateur radio rosters will close as soon
as we have enough volunteers signed up. People are signing up earlier
this year than past years, so if you want to be on the team, now’s the
best time to register.

You can register for either event on the BAA’s Web site, at
http://www.baa.org/races/boston-marathon/event-information/volunteer-information/volunteer-registration.aspx.
When asked for your assignment preference, just say you want to work 5K
Ham Radios for the 5K, or select your preferred section(s) of the
Marathon course for the Marathon. If you’d like to work both events,
sign up as a Marathon volunteer on the Web site, then please e-mail BAA
volunteer coordinator Mary Miller and CC: me to request to be added to
the 5K roster as well <mailto:mmiller at baa.org?cc=ab1rl at brettcsmith.org>.
If you can include your BAA volunteer loyalty number or registration
confirmation number, that helps.
