[BARC-List] BARC April General Meeting

Please join BARC at the Clay Center Observatory in Brookline at 7:30PM on
Thursday, April 20, for our monthly general meeting. Our guest speaker will
be Dennis Egan, W1UE, presenting about RTTY.

W1UE has been a licensed ham for 48 years. His major passion in amateur
radio is contesting; he finished in 4th place for WRTC Qualification in the
W1-W2-W3 area, is the current president of the Yankee Clipper Contest Club,
and is the Chairman of the ARRL Contest Advisory Committee.

His talk includes a brief history of RTTY, how to tune in a RTTY signal,
and how to create a RTTY signal. Many of the techniques involved in RTTY
(the second oldest digital mode) are applicable to other digital modes.
