Joe Harris, N1QD BARC President From ab1rl at brettcsmith.org Mon Jan 11 09:17:46 2016 From: ab1rl at brettcsmith.org (Brett Smith) Date: Mon, 11 Jan 2016 09:17:46 -0500 Subject: [BARC-List] Register now to volunteer at the BAA 5K or Boston Marathon Message-ID: <5693B98A.1060606@brettcsmith.org> The new year is upon us, and that always means one thing: volunteer registration is open for the 2016 BAA 5K and Boston Marathon! The 5K is on Saturday, April 16, and the Marathon on Monday, April 20. Don?t delay! Registration is only open until Tuesday, February 9. Due to changes in the credential program, we won?t be able to accommodate late registrations as in years past. Both races use the same registration system. About halfway through the application, you?ll be asked about your assignment preferences. Choose ?5K Hams? if you?d like to work at the 5K, or at least one other ham radio assignment if you?d like to work at the Marathon. You?ll know you?re done when you get a confirmation number. If you?d like to work at both races, great! Just fill out the application form with your assignment preferences for the Marathon. After you get your confirmation number, e-mail BAA volunteer coordinator Mary Miller, and CC: me with that number, and ask to be added to the roster of 5K hams. The BAA always appreciates support from amateur radio volunteers. We wouldn?t have that great relationship if you didn?t come and put in the work to make these races possible. I hope you?ll join us to help kick off another great year of public service. If you have questions about either event, please reply by e-mail, or phone (859) 466 5915. Thank you, and 73, ? -- Brett Smith, AB1RL Public Service Coordinator, Boston Amateur Radio Club
