To everyone:

Thanks so much for the many offers of the Baofeng cable! I'm still trying to respond to everyone individually so I apologize if I miss replying to you personally.  

It turns out my good friend Eliot,  W1MJ is just down the road from me in Belmont. He's offered a cable so I'll walk down to his QTH and pick it up.  (My wife and I are currently experimenting with a car-free lifestyle, so the close proximity figures into my decision.)
