It is with great sadness that we report the death of long time BARC member, public service participant, and Executive Board Member Arthur Ashley.  The details are still unknown, but he is believed to have passed away during the last full week of August.  He had recently celebrated his eightieth birthday. 
  
Arthur was from Mineola, NY. He attended Mineola High School and was graduate of the Syracuse University School of Forestry holding both Bachelors and Masters Degrees. Arthur served in Army during the 50's and worked for the US Forest Service. He had been retired for many years and, at this writing, had no relatives known to us. 
  
When not engaged in Ham radio activities, Arthur enjoyed reading several newspapers daily, visiting the Cambridge Public Library, and gathering for conversation with friends at some Cambridge restaurants.  He was a wealth of information and always very pleasant.  He will be sorely missed both as a club member and as a friend.
