W1MPN ANNOUNCES HIS SELECTIONS FOR SECTION STAFF
For the term starting on January 1, 2009

HUDSON, MA - Mike Neilsen, W1MPN, who was recently elected to the
office of EMA Section Manager (SM), announced his tentative
selections for section officials.

All appointments are subject to final acceptance by the individuals
selected. "I am pleased to be surrounded by such a distinguished
staff of well known and respected hams in the EMA", Neilsen said. The
effective date for the assumption of their duties is January 1, 2009.

Carl Aveni, N1FY, has been asked to accept the primary Assistant
Section Manager (ASM) post of Chief of Staff, and the first in line
to assume SM duties should Neilsen become incapacitated. Carl’s
collateral duty includes South Shore and Cape Cod/Islands club
liaison.

Rob Macedo, KD1CY, has been asked to assume the new ASM position of
Emergency Communication Liaison to the larger ARRL and the National
Weather Service/SKYWARN communities. He will also continue his
stellar work as our Section Emergency Coordinator (SEC), and will
joined by one or two ASEC's who will be named next year. “KD1CY will
also spearhead a digital communications outreach program to our
section members during his term”, W1MPN stated.

"Additionally, I am pleased to continue my work with our
distinguished past SM, Phil Temples, K9HI. Temples will assume the
new ASM post of Member Communications. K9HI has designed web based
information systems which communicate vital information to our
members in the fast paced 21st century environment",

W1MPN stated. Neilsen plans to phase out the Bulletin Manager (BM)
position during the first year of his administration. However, "club
communication nets will remain as vital social and training tools,
and receiving our full support", W1MPN added.

Traditional section staff positions will be filled as follows: Mike
Goldberg, K1LJN, will resume his duties as Official Observer
Coordinator (OOC).

Jim Ward, N1LKJ, will continue as Section Traffic Manager (STM).

Shawn O'Donnell, K3HI will remain in his State Government Liaison
(SGL) post.

Current club presidents Bob Salow, WA1IDA, (Boston Amateur Radio
Club), Bo Budinger, WA1QYM (Police Amateur Radio Team of Westford),
and Bob DeMattia K1IW, (Minuteman Repeater Association), have been
asked to assume the Public Information Coordinator (PIC), Affiliated
Club Coordinator (ACC), and Technical Coordinator (TC) duties,
respectively.

"I am also excited to announce that public service event veteran,
Bruce, KC1US, has been tapped as our staff event liaison", Neilsen
said.

Additional ASM posts of MARS Liaison, and Youth Coordinator will be
filled next year.

He will announce the final appointments shortly after the new year.

Neilsen concluded with a request to"please accept my most sincere
wishes for a great holiday season and a happy new year!"
