At the regularly scheduled BARC Business Meeting of November 3, a
decision was arrived at regarding the Friday SWAT Net.

We discussed and considered the following:

1. Low attendance. It's Friday, people have family and social plans
or go away on weekends.

2. There is very little late breaking news and announcements from:
     Salvation Army and SATERN
     Weather and SKYWARN
ARES and Boston Emergency Response Team
Technical topics. These are usually discussed on barc-list and
        other mailing lists.

3. On-going problems recruiting Net Control Operators for SWAT Net.

4. SATERN,SKYWARN and ARES have email mailing lists and Web pages to
communicate with their members and others who are interested.

5. Announcements, comments and discussions from the above
organizations can be transmitted on the existing and successful
Monday night BARC Net.

6. Training and practice for Net Control Operators, called Net
Control 101, will be available on the Monday BARC Net.

7. The BARC 145.230 MHz repeater will be available on Friday nights
at 9:00 PM local time for those whould like to get together for a
recreational rag chew.
