The Dember 1,BARC Business Business had a discussion about
collecting information for Pre-Hams seeking a ham license so that we
could provide several sources of tangible information for people who
ask us, "How can I get a ham license?"
Below is the information that I have gathered and have
distributed in response to people who have asked me.

It's the standard text for "All you need for your First Amateur Radio
License". See if the subject matter interests you. Take a good long
look at "Discovering Amateur Radio" starting on page 1 to learn more
about what Hams do in the hobby.
"Ham Radio For Dummies", by Ward Silver N0AX
describes "What is Ham Radio All About?". There is information about
licensing and the many aspects of the hobby.

to learn what you can do in the many aspects of the Ham Amateur Radio

Got a Scanner? Search between 144-148 MHz, the ham 2 meter band and
420-450 MHz, the ham 70cm (440) band; and hear hams on the air doing
voice, morse code and other modes of communication. BARC has a Monday
night Net at 9:00 PM on the club's repeater: 145.230 MHZ to which all
are invited.
