My favorite "radio toy" is a "Dick Tracy" AM/FM transistor radio.  And I
do mean "transistor"- no "chips" in
there - only individual transistors, resistors, diodes, chokes, etc.
powered by a 9 volt battery.  It is about 6.5" X 4.5" X 1.5", black
plastic with a silver front that has a screen printed image of Tracy
himself. You've just got to love it.
