I was home sick today. Really. Sick, that is, and I was really home. But I recall a few years ago when many Hams caught the “Bouvet Flu” so they could stay home and work that rare one.

Have you ever taken a “sick day” to do something radio? If the statute of limitations has worn off and you no longer feel guilty, what did you do to “recuperate”?

For me, many many years ago, I was in high school and took a sick day so I could get a few hours under my belt as I built a Heathkit phone patch. I recovered fine, and I still have the patch on the shelf.
