N1TEV is looking for some volunteers to help out at an electronics fair
in Wilmington on Friday April 2nd. If this is something you would like to
do, send Charles a note directly as he is not on the bars reflector.

Hi Jim.
What we had last year was a coworker Ham friend of mine who brought in
his
HF rig. We were able to string a long wire
out the window from the 2nd floor. We only did HF receiving at 14 to
15MHz
as this is done during the day. But he brought some walkie talkies for
the
kids to use (either CB or Family radio I think). They were a big hit.
This year my friend may not be able to show up so I thought maybe BARS
might
like to help.
I'll have my regens there BUT they require someone to show the kids how
to
use them.
I could also use one or two people to help teach the kids to solder.
If you don't have last years report on the Fair (with pictures) let me
know
and I'll send it to you.
Many thanks.

Hi Chuck,
How much help are you looking for? Skills?
HF? VHF rig? What access to outside antennas? Can we string a dipole and
run coax outside?

Hi Jim.
If some one at BARS would like to help out with this (and maybe bring in
a
working rig) that would be great.
Please let me know if anyone is interested.
Thanks

Subject: Volunteers Urgently Needed for Middle School Electronics
Fair
Hello Everyone.
It's Electronics Fair time again!
We are scheduled to present this year's Fair on FRIDAY, APRIL 2nd.
As we did last year, we will again be doing our presentation to the
ENTIRE
7th grade of Wilmington, an audience of 380 kids, plus a few 8th graders
who
are interested in Electronics as a career. This will again take place at
the Wilmington MIDDLE school (about 4 miles from ADI). As before, this
will
be an OFFICIAL ADI activity supported by "Analog in Action".
I expect the kids will be coming through between about 7:30AM and 1:30PM.
During these hours we will need a MINIMUM of 4 people at the soldering
stations, and one each at the other 4 tables. So, 8 to 10 people will be
needed all day long. I will also need some help in setting-up (at 6:45AM)
and taking down (2PM) our demos etc.
Alsoif any of you have Science related hobbies (Chemistry, rocketry,
etc)
please consider bringing in a demo of your own to show the kids.
Please let me know ASAP if you can help out and what hours and time of
day
you prefer.
Below is last year's schedule.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
