Boston Amateur Radio Club
January General Meeting
Starting the new year will be a very informative presentation of an
overview of SATERN, the Salvation Army Team Emergency Radio Network.
This is a network of nationwide and international hams prepared to
meet the communications needs of The Salvation Army Disaster Service.
The numerous SATERN accomplishments here in Boston will also be discussed.
BARC members Bill Foley, KB1GLF, and Frank Murphy, N1DHW, will cover
the subject at the BARC General meeting on Thursday, 15 January. The
meeting will begin at 7:00 pm at the Boston Headquarters building of The
Salvation Army. Details are elsewhere in this issue. A map is shown on
page 7.
As our hosts every month, the Salvation Army has proven to be a great
friend of BARC. Bill and Frank will speak about their agency=B9s mission
and the Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Service. It should be an
interesting presentation and we urge you to arrive early so we can get
started right on time.
