                Happy New Year To All

  Pictures from the BARC Christmas Party may be viewed
  on the BERT Web Page.  I thought I'd put them there
  just to remind you that BERT is still an important
  function of the Boston Amateur Radio Club.  We have
  been very lucky that BERT has not been called to action
  this past year, but training for many of its members
  has continued at the SATERN EOC during two ARRL SET's,
  and two mini ARES activation's. This year, BERT members
  also answered a request to provide the Red Cross with
  amateur radio coverage in the Greater Boston area over
  New Years. Along with the group at the SATERN EOC, and
  those at home stations, BERT had 20 members watching over
  us on New Years Eve.  This doesn't count the SEMARA,
  CCARES, and Sturdy Memorial operators.

  As a member of BERT, you may never be called out, but
  whether its for ARES/RACES/SkyWarn or working with the
  Salvation Army or Red Cross, remember that your an
  important part of our area's emergency team.  If you
  haven't taken the online ARRL courses, then take them
  (their FREE), if you don't have a Go Kit ready, assemble
  one now, if your weak on NTS operating procedures, get
  on the air at 8:00pm on the club repeater (145.23 -88.5)
  and learn them.
