   My 10 year old hand-held has been idle for several years.  This week I 
installed a new battery pack and reset the CPU iaw the tech-manual.
The IC-W21AT will not respond to the power on button, I will continue to 
troubleshoot.

It may be time to invest in a new transceiver in order to get back on the 
air. 

Any comments as to helping with a new purchase and / or troubleshooting the 
subject xceiver are welcome.

I attended the lecture about batteries at Thursday's BARC membership meeting 
and am now ready to blame my poor battery upkeep for many problems, I hear the 
IC-W21AT has an internal lithium clock battery that is kept charged by the 
battery pack BP-131 and may be the cause of the powering up failure due to 
several years of idleness?

My next handheld I would like to have the option to be powered by a battery 
pack of AA rechargeable as Leo illustrated to the members attending Leo's 
lecture.

Leo also fascinated me with his remarks concerning the MAHA battery charger. 
I have never heard of a MAHA before. I would like to learn more about this 
charger and where to buy one.
