BARC TO SPONSOR ARRL LEVEL 1 EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS COURSE

As many of you know, I have been preparing an ARRL EMCOMM Level 1
training course for BARC members. We have reached a point where we need your input
to schedule the course.

The ARRL recommends a "hybrid" approach to the EMCOMM class. This method
combines the best of online training, classroom and mentoring principles. I
have participated in a hybrid class and found it to be very helpful. Further
information on the hybrid method is available at:
http://www.arrl.org/cce/hybrid-faq.html.

The ARRL has instituted a grant program that provides for a $45.00
reimbursement for ARRL members. The cost of the program will be $57.95 (plus
meals), which includes the EMCOMM text, a very handy refresher.

We need to know the following:

a. Would you be interested in participating in a Hybrid EMCOMM Class?
b. Would you be willing to attend a Saturday & Sunday session?
c. If the first program is successful, would you be interested in
participating in the other two EMCOMM courses?

We have secured a training site that has off-street parking and is convenient
to the MBTA. All we need now is to find out how many people want to
participate in this training.

Please send me an e-mail, [email protected], or call me and leave a message at
781 925-9900, no later than Sunday February 29, 2004 if you are interested in
participating in the proposed EMCOMM course.

Thanks for your time and effort.
