Like all good hams I'm sure you will all remember to have a radio in your
car while traveling this New Years Eve. First for your own safety, and next
for any ARES activation.
For your information, at least three groups will be on the air monitoring
that I know of. The SATERN/BERT Group will work out of the Salvation Army's
Boston EOC, the SEMARA Club will work from their clubhouse, and the Red
Cross will have volunteers active from their Waltham Chapter location.
Please check-in to any or all the groups, where ever you hear them; on
vhf/uhf/6/and HF.
(known monitored freqs: 145.230,146.640,147.000,447.175,7265,and 3943 -
local 6 meter repeaters will also be monitored for emergencies)
>From all us monitoring stations, SEMARA Club, Red Cross, BERT, and the
Salvation Army [SATERN], We Wish You and Yours All a Safe and Happy New
Year.
