Dave,

A quick check of the Field Day rules says yes, 5 solar contacts are all we
need.  That station counts as an active transmitter while on the air - one
of the 3, 4, 5, or 6 I've heard mentioned.

Of course, you can make 5 solar contacts or run 15 minutes, unplug the
solar power source, plug into the generator, and keep going.
