[BARC-List] mobile antenna question

Hi everyone,

I've procrastinated getting an HF mobile station reinstalled in my Saab
with an Icom 706. Some time I ago I purchased a screwdriver antenna. I'm
wondering if anyone knows a ham or a company that could assist me in
coming up with the best mounting solution?  If you've never seen a
screwdriver antenna, it's a rather large affair -- quite a bit more wind
load than, say, a Hustler or Outbacker. The antenna will most likely
require guying.

While they do excellent installations, Custom Auto Radio of Watertown
told me that they would not perform any metal work on the car frame
itself.  They referred me to a garage in Brighton. When I described the
project, they said "no."

I also contacted U-Haul, hoping that I could obtain a trailer hitch that
might work. U-Haul seems to understand all about installing hitches, but
they (at least, the Somerville store) seemed unwilling to work with me
to do any sort of custom job (e.g., an "off-center" install).

Any suggestions?
